Often my new designs come from the connection and communication I have with my customers. It's the one thing that I love the most at archstoneventura and I believe it's what makes us unique.
I myself often talk with our customers about what they love and dislike about our design and fit. I then reflect with those comments in my next design. archstoneventura clothes that look great on customers, are comfortable and last for a long, long time.

I myself often talk with our customers about what they love and dislike about our design and fit. I then reflect with those comments in my next design. archstoneventura clothes that look great on customers, are comfortable and last for a long, long time. Here is my recent story about my connection with a loyal customer and the process of upcycling her old archstoneventura piece.
I received a call from the customer hoping to upcycle her very old archstoneventura skirt. It is still in perfect condition. The challenge was to increase the size.
I tried to come up with a new design while keeping the embroidery part. Sometimes we fail at the studio where my sewer and I have a different solution.
We often come from completely different cultures and experiences and use different techniques to solve the same challenge.
After a few trial and errors, we came up with a completely new design.
I haven't shown this new skirt to my customer yet but I know she will love it. Now this experience creates a new idea for me. I would love to add this design in my next collection. I love this kind of process. It's not just an alteration, it involves many layers of connection and communication between myself, my team and my customers. This is one of the most enjoyable parts of my work. It's not all about business..

Some are new and some are old. Although, those old things are often left unused, as if they have been asleep for a long time. In the last few years, I have been revisiting Japan and the culture.

Many of those beautiful things are not as recognised or used in Japan. I have been thinking how we can repurpose them here in Australia. Not many Australian women may wear Kimono as is.

But what if the objects are deconstructed and reworked as contemporary pieces? Do you agree with the deconstruction of those beautiful vintage things or keep them as is? What are your thoughts?

For the end of year gifts, I decided to make aprons for my studio team. I used this beautiful Japanese retro fabrics that I have kept for many years.

They have many pockets to keep pencils, measuring tape, snip scissors, and a few other things... the perfect utility apron.

In our busy everyday work, it's easy to lose those things all the time and our clothes were often damaged by rubbing on the edge of our rough cutting table.

Those retro images are logos of four different long established Japanese companies which have been operating for more than 100 years. Their logos indicate strength and unity. They are a soy sauce company, roofing company, sake wine company, and a textile dyeing company. I love their beautiful logos!

Once we made those aprons my team looks more together and united and so cool. Do you agree?

One day we will make our own logo for our own apron!

Many of my archstoneventura team have started wearing the apron outside of work. They really look great with the apron!  Do you think aprons can be a part of fashion?
